Who We Are

Anya Dillahunt is an Environmental Science graduate student at the University of Colorado Denver. Her primary interest is environmental health, and during her time at University of Colorado Denver she has completed projects investigating the health impacts of cyanobacteria blooms and trace pharmaceuticals in wastewater treatment plant effluent. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with minors in Environmental Studies and Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Applicable course experience for this project includes environmental toxicology, environmental engineering, and mountain biogeography.

Eli Duber is an Environmental Science graduate student at the University of Colorado Denver with primary interests surrounding hydrology, water quality, and aquatic ecology. He has a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Hydrologic Science and Water Management from Metropolitan State University of Denver. He has experience collecting periphyton from various benthic habitats and laboratory experience analyzing chlorophyll-a via spectrophotometry. Roughly two years of classes in aquatic ecology and hydrology, in addition to other coursework in aquatic chemistry make Eli a desirable team member for this specific project.

Morgan Carter is an Environmental Science Masters student at the University of Colorado Denver, researching microbial-based contaminant remediation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Secondary Biology Teacher Certification from Providence College. He has production laboratory experience in microbiological food testing and pharmaceutical quality control and research laboratory experience in coastal algae characterization. Morgan’s background in aquatic field sampling, technical laboratory procedures, and group-based research – in addition to his coursework in aquatic chemistry, toxicology, paleo-biogeography, and algae biology – prepares him to successfully contribute to this project’s goals.

David Krohn is a graduate student at the University of Colorado Denver earning his Master of Science in Environmental Science with a specialty in Water Quality. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin Madison and uses this chemistry background to study environmental problems from a chemical perspective. He also has industry laboratory experience, having worked in the quality control department at a pharmaceutical company. Coursework that has prepared David for this project includes environmental hydrology, groundwater hydrology, aquatic ecology, aquatic chemistry, and environmental engineering.
